True or False Stories

Before i begin , i have to stress that i am a terrible liar.

“I had an awful time!!” my brother lamented
“First I got angina pectoris, then arteriosclerosis. Just when I was recovering, I got psoriasis. They gave me hypodermics and to top it all, tonsillitis was followed by appendectomy!” my brother whined in frustration.
“Wow!” I said in sympathy.
“How did you pull through?” I asked
“I don’t know?” my brother said as he shrugged his shoulders
“It was the toughest spelling test I’ve ever had! “He yelled as he stormed off to his room.
It was then I realized that it was the science camp that my brother had enrolled in the holidays, is driving him to the nearby friendly neuropsychological rehabilitation centre.

In my old junior college, where I attended for less than 2 months, students attended classes in large lecture theatres that have elevated seating. In one class, an old professor was having difficulty controlling some boys sitting at the back who were making a racket. As usual the girls were quietly seated in the front few rows.
After a particularly loud noise, the professor yelled angrily, “the pants at the back come down and the skirts in the front go up!”
Then silence filled the air of the lecture theatre, before everyone broke up in to ruckus laughters.

Gah…I suspect the second is still true. I bet Geraldine pointed out a lie, but is wasn’t an intentional lie on Rebecca’s part, unlike Qing Hong’s standing ovation–the big fat liar.

Doesn’t the first one read like something in the jokebook? The dialogue is just too well-organized.

i too think that the 2nd is true. the 1st one seems too impossible, and knowing that rebecca’s brother is still in primary school, it just seems impossible.

the second story is possible because it is only hinged on what the lecturer said. it was clearly more of a joke than a lie. it is therefore true, because it doesn’t seem like a lie!
